The committee is made up of former student athletes from Anne Arundel County who understand the importance of exposure, education and resources. Our objective is to help provide all the exposure, education, and resources possible to our young people. We have recognized that we are behind the curb when it comes to these characteristics in comparison to other counties, and we want to make a change. By hosting our very own off-season 7-on-7 high school football tournament, our counties’ athletes will compete with some of the state’s best competition during the off-season. Not only will athletes show-place their skills; they will also have the opportunity to scout feature competitors for the upcoming season, apply for an athletic scholarship from the Anne Arundel County Scholarship Trust, hear life tips from a great life coach and have the chance to speak with a few previous athletes. They will partake in these experiences while having the chance to speak with professionals on their next steps to becoming a collegiate level athlete, and also career professionals, such as the military, about career choices. Again, we witness major talent in our community year after year that does not reach its full potential due to the lack of education, exposure, and resources. Therefore, it is time to fill that void and provide our communities with everything student athletes need to succeed.
